Hi there!

My name is Prairie. I am a dog, but I am not a prairie dog! I am an absolutely BEAUTIFUL English Cream Golden Retriever, checking in at 58 pounds, and I recently turned four years old.

I’m a mellow girl most of the time. I like everyone I’ve met so far, and I especially love to snuggle and get attention from my foster family, I love to play with toys and get treats, and I love walks (I’m pretty good on leash) especially when I can do lots of sniffing. I’m OK with other dogs as long as they’re not real hyper and don’t get in my face. After working really hard at it, I’ve learned to ignore the cat in my foster home.

I’m learning to be OK with car rides, but my foster parents say it’s best to give me something to settle my tummy before road trips, otherwise I will unfortunately barf in your backseat – my bad.

I came to TGRR because I was a bit “too interested” in the chickens where I lived before, so if you have chickens, I am not the dog for you. I’m also not sure I understand small children, so it’s probably best if I’m adopted by a family with older children.

The TGRR vet says I’m a healthy girl but she wants me to take joint supplements for some issues in my back end. Not to fear – don’t let me get fat and I’ll be fine!
