Hi there! Gunner here. I’m  a senior boy who still gets the zoomies! I’m 9-years-old and weigh 52 pounds.  I ended up at the shelter in my old age which was upsetting to me but I’m still full of love and energy.  I’m looking to spend my Golden years following my people around and getting petted.

I really would like my forever home to be a place just for me. Other dogs find me annoying, quite frankly, because of my exuberance and (this is embarrassing) my tendency to hump them. I’ve not been around cats or kids so I don’t know about them.

Food? Yes please. I’m very food motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. You don’t even have to tell me to “Sit,” if you’ve got a treat in your hand, I just offer one up.  And not to brag, but I am particularly skilled at catching treats mid-air!😁

I walk great on the leash and ride well in the car. I’m crate trained as well but I’ve been known to bark a bit in my crate. In fact, I’m quite the talker in general. I bark for attention sometimes (refer to treat section above) and I make cute growly noises when I get excited or when I roll around to scratch my back.

When I got to TGRR, my skin was in rough shape and I had two ear infections. I still tend to be quite itchy and TGRR and the vets are working to figure out what combination of meds and medicated baths will work best to keep my skin soothed. Just know that it’s very likely that I’ll need to be on meds and have more frequent baths for the rest of my life.
