Candy 250545 - 4

Dog ID:  250545    Sex:  Female    Age:  4 Years old

When you think of a Golden Retriever, do you think of a chill dog that wants to cuddle, stares into your eyes lovingly and is up for chasing a ball every now and again? That’s ME! My name is Candy, I’m four years old and I’m about 90 pounds (I’m working hard to lose weight and need to drop about 10-15 more).

My personality couldn’t be any more Golden if I tried. I’m just now learning to be an indoor, family pet – I’ve spent my whole life up until now living outside as a breeding dog. You’d think I’d be scared and unsure of everything, but I’m taking to living indoors and being a family pet like a duck takes to water. My foster family has kids and it turns out, I LOVE KIDS! Laying beside them and getting pets is amazing, I could do it all day.

Every now and then I get the zoomies, but I’m generally laid back. I get along great with my two little foster canine siblings. In fact, I’d like to live with another dog and some kids in my forever home.

A couple of slight hiccups in that I’m not good about getting in and out of the car so you’ll need to be able to lift my hefty body so we can places. I ride great once I’m in though!

The other thing is that I’m scared of loud noises. I don’t freak out, but I startle easily and get a little stressed. If you let me be near you and use your sweet, soft voice, you can make me feel better fairly quickly.

I also am not a fan of stairs. I’m fine doing the stairs to go in and out of my foster home, but I avoid going upstairs. I need your home to have all my main living space on the main floor.

So if you have a vacancy sign out advertising for a traditional Golden, please consider me to fill the position!
