Calling all huggers! I’m Maddie and I give out free hugs! I’m told it’s endearing because they’re gentle hugs and mighty cute.

I’m five years old and weigh about 50 pounds. I was severely neglected before I got to TGRR and am now eating lots to put weight back on.

I’m all about being around people and spreading the love. I also get along with other dogs just fine and will play wrestle with them and play tug with anyone willing to grab the other end of a toy. I love my stuffies too! When all is said and done, I REALLY hope my forever home has another dog I can be with and learn from.

I pull pretty hard on the leash and am in the process of learning better leash manners, but you’ll need to continue our lessons so I keep progressing. Luckily, I want to keep my humans happy and so I should be a quick learner. I ride great in the car, but have a tendency of wanting to help with your driving, so you might want to contain me in the backseat when we’re on car rides.

Cats are fascinating to me but apparently, I’m way more into them than they are to me. I want to play hard and they want to be left alone. Foster Mom says I’m “obsessed” with cats and really should go to a cat-free home.

You should know that thunderstorms terrify me. If I’m in a crate for one, I’ll do my best to break free. I really want to be close to humans during a storm to feel safe. One time I was in my foster home alone during a storm and I got so scared I peed. Please plan to give me meds and a lot of love when storms are coming.

I love kids! I get super excited though, so a home with older kids is the best fit for me.
