Hello new person. Please give me time to get to know you and I promise to be the best “Buddy” you’ve ever had! I’m about five years old and weigh 57 pounds.

I was found as a stray in an area where lots of dogs get dumped and no one knows my history so you can’t really blame me for being a little wary of people. My default mode is “flight” when I’m nervous. At the vet I felt so nervous, I even snapped at him but I felt bad and was really sorry I did that. The second time I went to the vet, everyone took it really slow and I did fine because I knew Foster Dad was there and he would keep me safe.

I get along great with other dogs and would really love it if my forever home had a strong and balanced mentor dog for me to take my cues from.

I also get along well with cats but if they run, game is on and I will chase.

I’ve not been around kids but I think the chaos they could bring might be too much for me. I startle easily at loud noises.

My favorite thing of all time is to be scratched. Doesn’t matter where, just keep at it! I’m the most loyal of boys and love love love to be near my person. I worry when my person has to leave and get pretty upset but my behavior is very manageable.

Over time, I really think I’ll be the bestest Buddy you’ve ever had if you’re just willing to be patient with me and give me the time to settle in and trust you.
