Hey there! I’m Misha, I’m five years old. When I came to TGRR, I tipped the scales at 96 pounds! Since I spent my life as a breeder dog, I was used to having food available all the time. Let’s just say I liked that free access to food a little too much. The TGRR veterinarian says my ideal weight is about 75 pounds, so I’m on a weight-loss journey. The good news is that all the playing, walking, and diet food I’ve had at my foster home has paid off! I’m down to 80 pounds and feeling great. Only a few more pounds to go! My profile pics show me “before” and “after” my weight loss (the ones with my new bling are the most recent).
Yes, the first five years of my life were spent as a breeding female and now I have suddenly found myself to be a house pet! There are so many things to see and experience that are new to me! The great thing is I have three foster brothers that are teaching me how to “dog” in this new and fun way of life! It turns out things like stairs and hardwood floors aren’t that scary after all.
I mostly get along well with my foster brothers but I’m what TGRR calls “Dog Selective.” I tend to be pushy with other dogs and have known to go after one if they think they’re going to rule the roost, when clearly I should be the center of attention. For this reason, TGRR thinks it’s best if I’m the only dog in the family.
Foster Mom says I sometimes get the zoomies and run and play like a puppy. She also says I wrinkle up my nose in an adorable way when I get excited.🥰
I’m working on “Sit” and doing pretty good with it. I’m also learning how to walk on a leash wearing a harness. That’s coming along nicely, even if I say so myself!
Riding in the car made me nervous at first, but I’ve learned it means we’re going somewhere fun – maybe hiking? So grab those car keys ’cause I’m all in for a ride!
I’m not what you’d call a big snuggler but I love getting lots of pets and belly rubs!
The other day we had kids come and visit for a couple of hours and I was interested in them and enjoyed them. I haven’t been around cats so I don’t know about them.
I’m ready for the next leg of this journey and I hope you’re the one that’ll want to take me on it!
