Dog ID:  2605041    Sex:  Male    Age:  5 Years old

Oh, hey, Duke Ellington here. I’m Chill – five years old and chill. That’s me. In fact, some might go so far as to call me lazy. I’m not much into running and playing but will occasionally wrestle or play tug with other dogs.

I weigh 103 pounds. There, I said it. HOWEVER, I weighed 109 pounds a month ago so as you can tell, I’m watching my figure with the help of my foster family. It helps that we go on walks and I should point out that I’m very good on the leash! I still need to loose about 25 more pounds so that I’m healthy and it’ll be good for my joints.

You should also know that I have a medical issue that the great partner vets of TGRR are trying to figure out. They’re sending me to a “specialist” and it will probably be the end of August before they figure this out. It’s likely that I will require prescription food for the rest of my life and more check-ups than what’s typical to monitor my condition.

I get along with everyone I meet – dogs and people alike. I used to live with cats and got along fine with them too. I haven’t really been around kids but I think I’d like them.  I really am a very sweet boy that goes with the flow. Foster Mom says my ideal is hanging out on the couch while she works and alternating naps with chewing on a Benebone.

Not surprisingly, I’m very food motivated. Foster mom says I have selective hearing for commands like Sit and Come and Go to Crate but that I’m a very good listener when there’s a food reward! I have to confess that I’ll get into your trash and will counter surf so it’s best to Duke-proof your kitchen or deal with the consequences. 🙂

So if you’re looking for a chill, loving companion, here I am!
