Who’s a happy boy? I am! My name is River and I’m a year old and I weigh 53 pounds. What makes me happy, you ask? Every thing! We’re going on a walk? It’s my favorite thing! Time to play with another big dog? It’s my favorite thing! Want to play tug? It’s my favorite thing!

I think you get the idea. I’m a traditional young Golden and I’m full of love and ready for adventure. Foster Mom says I’m smart and I want to learn and to please you. I’m learning Sit and Shake and catch on quick to new things.

I’m totally in love with my fuzzy foster brother and we play all day. In fact, I’m looking for a forever home with a confident big dog that wants to play.You should know that I’m not very fond of little dogs though – I growled at the ones I met. Foster Mom says that doing a slow introduction with a new dog will make me more likely to hit it off with them.

I love people, especially ladies and kids, and I love being around them! I’m not sure why, but some guys make me nervous, so there’s got to be a lady in my forever home that I can bond with. There are cats in my foster home and I get along great with them but I will chase them if they run. Same with seeing a squirrel, all bets are off and I will try my darndest to get near them.

I pull hard on the leash when I first go on a walk, so I need someone with a strong arm, patience and time to help me learn to walk with a loose leash. I’m just so excited to go on walks, it takes me a few minutes to calm down.
