Hiya! I’m Mighty Mia, a four-month-old, 30-pound Golden Retriever here to steal your heart!

I’m all puppy and all Golden! That means zoomies, stealing things I shouldn’t, and putting just about everything new in my mouth to see if it’s edible. My foster mom is smart, though—she keeps treats handy for distracting me and trading with me for whatever treasure I’ve found!

I’m doing really well with my potty training. As long as I’m taken outside frequently, I do great in the house. I’m still young, though, so I have a small bladder and usually need to go out once during the night. I sleep in my crate in the bedroom and take breaks in my daytime crate, where I happily go when told, “Go to your house.” I even eat my meals there, so I think of my crate as a place where good things happen!

I LOVE other dogs, especially playful ones who want to wrestle and play tug. I can get pretty excited when meeting a new dog and may bark at first, but once I realize they’re okay, I’m ready to make a new friend. I also sometimes bark when I’m faced with something new or unfamiliar, so my foster mom is helping me experience lots of new people, places and sounds so I grow up confident. I’m already pretty comfortable with the robot vacuum, and thunder doesn’t bother me at all!

For such a young puppy, I’m told I’m a very well-behaved girl. I’m actually pretty chill and love getting petted when I meet new people. And I don’t jump on them! (My foster mom won’t take credit for that, but I think she’s had something to do with it.)

I love people, and I LOVE cats! I haven’t spent much time around young children yet, but I’m sure the more energetic the kids, the more energetic I’ll be, too!

One important medical note about me:  I have a condition called entropion, which causes my eyelid to turn inward and my eyelashes to rub against my eye. TGRR took me to a veterinary eye specialist, and I had a procedure that relieved the problem. There’s a chance that will be all I need as I grow, but there’s also a possibility I’ll need corrective surgery when I’m about a year old. TGRR has been given an estimate of approximately $1,600 for that surgery if it’s needed, and they have raised monies to help contribute toward the surgery – again, if it’s needed. Everyone agrees I’m worth it!
