Happy boy Doug, that’s me! I wake up happy and go to sleep happy. I’m 3-years-old, weigh 75 pounds and I just want to be around people!

Are we playing with balls? That’s my favorite thing! Are we going for a walk? That’s my favorite thing! Are we just going to hang out and snuggle? You guessed it – that’s my favorite thing too!

I spent the first couple of years of my life pretty much contained in a small utility closet so I’m making up for lost time. I have some trust issues and separation anxiety, but hey, can you blame me?

I need to be crated when you leave the house because I don’t just chew things, I eat them and that’s dangerous for me. I’m not exactly wild about the crate, but I go in easily when asked. I’ve even been known to go into the crate for a nap when the door is open and folks are home.

I used to live with kids and did fine with them. I’ve not been around cats so I don’t know about them. I get along great with other dogs and would really like for my forever family to have another confident dog who likes to play.

I’m working on my leash manners. I don’t really pull that hard but I get easily distracted by scents and going to see other people or dogs. I sit on command like a champ and have pretty much conquered coming when called.

And the ball thing, well, I just want to emphasize that it really is my favorite thing. I could play all day! So grab a ball and come and meet me ok? You can be my new favorite too!
