Hiya, hiya,hiya! Let me get my joy on and my excitement out and I’ll be with you in a minute. That’s what I do – I get excited with new people and places but if you’re patient, I self-soothe and chill.  My name is Colby and I’m an energetic 1-year-old with lots of love to give. I’m smart and I want to please, like a Golden, but none of us are sure what my mix is. Everyone seems to agree that I’m handsome though!

I get along well with other dogs and think I’l do best with mentor dog in my forever home – a stable dog to help balance me out and help me learn the family’s routines. I’m housebroken now, but it’s been a journey for me because I had a bad habit when I first came to TGRR of peeing in my crate. Now though, I have a strict routine for going out and going potty. If you’re smart, you’ll have a strict potty routine with me too to avoid any accidents. Foster Mom is teaching me to see my crate as a safe place and right not she doesn’t make me go into it, but it’s open when I want to go in and chill with a treat or a bone.

I really like to play with other dogs and with people and am up for a game of tug with anyone who wants to. I also will throw a tug toy up in the air and entertain myself for quite a while.

I’m learning not to pull on leash and do really well on a long line. I know how to “Sit” on command and I’m doing really well learning how to “Come” when called.

I haven’t been around cats, so I don’t know about them. Kids are great fun though! I like them!

Thunderstorms and fireworks don’t phase me and I’m a good car rider – I hop in and out easily and ride like a champ.
