Mild mannered and polite. How many dogs do you know that fit that description? Well now you know at least one – me, Brutus! I’m 3-years-old and weigh 77 pounds and I am very glad to meet you.

I love people! Love being around them, getting petted and watching what they do. I’m fine with dogs too but mostly ignore them if there’s a human around.  I will initiate play every now and again and get along great with other dogs I meet.  I used to live with cats and got along with them just fine too. I’m just a go-with-the-flow, easy-going kind of guy with everything and everybody.

I’m crate trained if that’s what you prefer, but I can also be trusted to be left alone in the house without any issues.

I can often be found with a toy in my mouth. I’ll fetch but then like to strut and show my toy off. I don’t really play tug, I’ll just let you have the toy if you want it.

You should know that as perfect as I sound, that I do have a rare medical condition that effects my toe nails. The nails are very brittle and often become separated from the nail bed. What does that mean, you ask? Well it means we’ll be going to the vet frequently when that happens and it could also mean I’ll need meds the rest of my life – the vet has just now diagnosed my condition and it’s too early to tell whether that will be the case. Keeping my nails trimmed is super important, and I’m a perfect gentlemen when that needs to be done.

My condition also means no walks on concrete for now. When I’m cleared to go for longer walks though, you can count on me to walk nicely by your side after I’ve had a chance to sniff a bit. I also know how to Sit for a treat.
