Ava – Adopted!

Dog ID: 250652 Sex: Female Age: 5 Years old
Hi there, sorry to bother you, but I wanted to say “Hello.” I’m Ava and I’m a bit reserved in new places and with new people. Once I warm up though, I’m ready for cuddles and chasing tennis balls!
I’m 5-years-old and weigh 51 pounds. I get along good with most dogs and I would love to have a “mentor dog” in my forever family that I can learn more from about being a pet, relaxing and building my confidence.
I haven’t really been around kids but I think I’d prefer a calm house with older kids. I’m good with cats, I basically ignore them.
Everyone goes on and on about how great I am walking on a leash! You can count on me to walk and not pull and have a loose leash while we walk.
I ride fine in the car, but at this point I need your help loading in the car. I love my crate – it’s my safe spot. I don’t like thunderstorms, but if I can get in my crate when it’s storming it helps me realize all is going to be OK.
My favorite things are people and dogs. I especially love to snuggle with humans on the sofa.
I’m working on learning “Sit” and “Come.” I’m really food-motivated and a fast learner who wants to please.
So hopefully, if it’s not too much to ask, you could be my person and help me continue to learn to not be afraid of new things, to relax and help me build my confidence.
