Ashe – Adoption Pending
Dog ID: 240861 Sex: Female Age: 1 Year old
Hello, nice to meet you! I’m Ashe. I was found as a stray in Asheboro, thus the name. I’m a Great Pyr mix, but I’m little for a Pyr – I weigh about 60 pounds. I’m putting on weight but I will never be very big.
I’m about 18 months old and not surprisingly, I’m more like a Pyr than a Golden. I like to have jobs and my number one job is to protect my peeps and my house, so yes, I’m a barker. I will wander off if I get the chance, so it’s best to keep a close eye on me outside. I also have a strong prey drive so hold on tight if we see a cat or a squirrel. But other than that, I’m great on the leash.
I love people – all shapes and sizes! I like them so much that I get upset when I’m left alone. I’m now taking a medicine everyday called Prozac that’s been a game changer for me! I used to break out of a crate and chew on things when left alone, but Foster Mom and Dad can leave me alone now and I don’t have to be in a crate and I don’t chew anything I’m not supposed to.
I’m young so I love to run and play! I especially like to play tug and have become known for carrying my toys around the house. Outside, I do get the zoomies but I also have lots of down time when I just want to rest. My zoomies are pretty exuberant though – I sometimes run right into people and even though I don’t mean to, I can knock people down. It’s best that I not live with small kids or anyone who’s unsteady on their feet!
I LOVE other dogs and really want to play with them. I’m really hoping my Forever Home has a playful dog like me. Foster Mom says I do well at the dog park but mostly we’ve met other bigger dogs like me. Once a dog got in my face and I was quick to set boundaries with him and we all got along fine.
I love a good car ride and sticking my head out a cracked window! This way I can bark to protect the car and the folks inside it – hahaha!
I wasn’t housebroken when I first got to TGRR, but I’ve come a long way since then. I don’t have accidents very often now and am learning to signal my family if I need to go out. I know how to Sit on command and am learning Come. Foster Mom says I’m really smart!
So hopefully, all my Pyr-fection appeals to you! I can’t wait to meet you and play!
